JCS is seeking a Jamf Administrator.  The functional responsibilities of this role are as follows:  Assists in the deployment, configuration, and management of Apple devices using Jamf Pro. Monitors and maintains the Jamf Pro server and ensures its optimal performance. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to Apple devices and Jamf Pro. Collaborate with senior administrators to implement best practices and security policies. Create and maintain documentation or Jamf Pro configurations and procedures. Participate in the testing and deployment of software updates and patches. Assist in the training of end-users on the use of Apple devices and Jamf Pro.

This role works closely with cybersecurity and configuration management teams to investigate and resolve vulnerabilities identified through Tenable scans. Plays a critical role in ensuring operational compliance with federal mandates including Binding Operational Directives (BODs), and in addressing know exploitable vulnerabilities (KEVs) and high-risk public-facing findings.  If you are interested in a challenge and a great working environment, apply today!

What you will do:
  • 4+ years of experience using and managing macOS and iOS operating systems
  • 4+ years of experience managing and administering Jamf Pro or other mobile device management (MDM) solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Previous support in an IT role, particularly with Apple devices
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python
  • Experience with network configuration and security principles
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments and IT best practices
  • Proficiency in Excel for advanced reporting and reconciliation.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Must have or be eligible to hold an HHS Public Trust
  • 8+ years of experience administering Jamf Pro in enterprise or education environments.
  • Expertise in creating and deploying configuration profiles, policies, scripts, and patch management workflows using Jamf Pro.
  • Experience with smart groups, static groups, extension attributes, and custom inventory fields.
  • Strong understanding of macOS security settings, including FileVault, Gatekeeper, SIP, firewall, and encryption controls.
  • Experience integrating Jamf with third-party tools (e.g., Apple Business Manager, Intune, Okta, Munki, or AutoPkg)
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management tools like Tenable or Jamf Protect.
  • Ability to interpret CVE/CWE data and apply appropriate patches or configuration changes.
  • Experience developing automated remediation scripts (e.g., Bash, Python, AppleScript) for macOS devices.
  • Proven track record in tracking, reporting, and reducing endpoint vulnerabilities through Jamf or related tools.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, FedRAMP, HIPAA) and how they apply to macOS endpoints.
