JCS Solutions has a need for a Tempest Analyst/Manager to join our growing team providing support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), and other Air Force activities within the AF National Capital Region (AFNCR) missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB). What you will do:
The specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of TEMPEST certification processes within the organization.
  • Ensure that our products and facilities meet the stringent requirements for TEMPEST certification, providing assurance to our customers and stakeholders of the security of our systems.
  • Develop and implement TEMPEST certification procedures and protocols in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and security, to ensure compliance with TEMPEST requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Conduct TEMPEST inspections and assessments of equipment, facilities, and processes to identify and address any potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for TEMPEST certification authorities, communicating effectively to facilitate the certification process.
  • Keep abreast of updates and changes to TEMPEST standards and regulations, providing guidance and recommendations for maintaining compliance.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support TEMPEST certification efforts.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive records of TEMPEST certification activities, findings, and outcomes.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on TEMPEST security principles and best practices TEMPEST Certification Manager and Inspector.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Technically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.

What you will bring:
  • Secret DoD Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with 4+ years of in depth experience including RMF and NIST 800-53 and A&A's with at least 2 years of experience with Tempest inspections or requirements
    • No degree and 2 years of Air Force Tempest experience with Air Force Tempest schoolhouse training/certification may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Government CTP or CTTA training
  • DoDD 8140 certification (CompTia, ISC2, ISACA, etc.), i.e. SEC+ Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of TEMPEST standards and regulations, including NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92 and related documents.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with multiple programs simultaneously (multi-task) wit
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

How you will wow us:
  • Air Force CTP or CTTA training considered
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical specifications, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of TEMPEST/1-92, 2-95, 01-02, 1-13 standards preferred
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles.
  • Experience conducting TEMPEST inspections and assessments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, external partners, and certification authorities.
  • Certification such as Certified TEMPEST Professional (CTP) or Certified TEMPEST Specialist (CTS) preferred.
