Job Summary

JCS Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Solution Architect to support our growing portfolio of government clients. This is a high-impact role for a technically skilled architect who excels in full-stack cloud solution design, implementation, and consulting on major government cloud platforms, with a focus on delivering secure, scalable, and mission-critical solutions tailored to government needs.

You will collaborate closely with the government client, and solutions teams to deliver full lifecycle support—from understanding customer business use cases to architecting compliant and efficient cloud solutions, overseeing implementation, and ensuring successful deployment in QA and production environments. Your strategic insights and leadership will help shape the success of government digital transformation initiatives.

The Senior Cloud Solution Architect is responsible for developing strategic approaches to cloud-based platforms, aligning technical solutions with long-term business objectives. This role translates complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable cloud architecture designs.

Key responsibilities include evaluating and designing integrated solutions across diverse software platforms, ensuring system interoperability, and leveraging DevOps best practices to automate cloud resource management. As a senior technical authority, the architect addresses advanced challenges in systems integration, platform compatibility, and cross-platform functionality.

This role leads the full lifecycle of cloud initiatives—from feasibility analysis and strategic planning to architecture design and project execution. The architect may oversee large development teams engaged in the design and implementation of highly complex software systems, ensuring timely and successful project completion.

With deep expertise in cloud architecture planning and implementation, the architect brings a holistic understanding of systems design across hardware, software, communications, networking, and security domains. They plan new cloud deployments and enhancements, applying advanced techniques to simulate, evaluate, and optimize existing architectures in support of client mission growth and evolving requirements.

The architect engages directly with customers to gather requirements, define strategies, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide ongoing support. What you will do:
  • Engage directly with government customers to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and present secure, compliant cloud architecture recommendations based on best practices and the customer’s mission needs.
  • Provide hands-on support during implementation, deployment, and troubleshooting phases.
  • Lead the definition of implementation roadmaps, including access controls, secure network architecture, replication, and recovery strategies.
  • Define test plans, integration requirements, and delivery checkpoints across multi-phase projects.
  • Deliver scalable solutions across multiple availability zones and regions, especially in PaaS-based deployments.
  • Create and deliver comprehensive handover documentation to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and expand the federal project pipeline.
  • Proactively contributes to solution development by integrating cloud services with government compliance and operational requirements.
  • Provides thought leadership and design support for cloud environments with a focus on networking, business/functional segmentation and isolation, and most appropriate use of cloud vendor managed services for platform infrastructure (network, data, hosting, ingress/egress, etc.)
  • Support collaborative design of technical cloud architectural blueprints for repeatable implementation patterns that align with our quality goals and anticipate future platform growth
  • Implement and oversee all aspects of the cloud environment including provisioning, scale, monitoring, and security
  • Collaborate closely with Information security, Architecture (Enterprise, Solutions, Application), and DevOps/SRE stakeholders to develop patterns and practices for consistent intake and implementation of platform change requirements
  • Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies across cloud accounts / hosting models
  • Perform review / refinement of design of new cloud or SaaS solutions to ensure adherence to architecture patterns and quality goals.
  • Implement required systems, solutions, and processes needed to manage cloud cost, monitoring, scalability, and redundancy are accounted for and continuously validated
  • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance best practices

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • TS Security Clearance w/ SCI eligibility
  • Required 8 years of experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with the government Amazon Web Services (AWS) SC2S and C2S enclaves
  • Programming experience with (C#, Java & Python)
  • Containerization for managing microservices (Kubernetes & Docker)
  • Cloud development (AWS)
  • Microservices development and best practices
