JCS Solutions has a need for an Imaging Technician for swing shift to join our growing team providing support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), and other Air Force activities within the AF National Capital Region (AFNCR) missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB). What you will do:
The specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Maintenance and repair of the equipment, circuits supporting the DRSN at the Pentagon.
  • Maintaining DRSN and associated sub-systems for continuous operations within a site, operations center, and geographically remote locations
  • Support maintenance and monitoring activities, switch operation and administration, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, fault isolation, and service restoration.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift schedules and/or standby, if required, to provide 24/7 365 coverage.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, successful completion of technical training associated with operations and maintenance of the DRSN DSS-2A switch.
  • Must be familiar with various encryption devices, e.g. KIV-7, including device substitution, key and re-keying. Must be familiar with performing BERT tests and with test equipment supporting the troubleshooting and maintenance of DISA and DRSN Circuits.
  • Must be familiar with the operation and maintenance of all ancillary devices, e.g., ISTs, ECCs, CEUs, MDAs, UMUXs.
  • Perform engineering for new circuit installations, modifications, and deactivations.
  • Provide network planning and engineering support for all in-service operational locations.
  • Provide technical and operational support to end-user services, network expansions, and modernization of telecommunications backbone systems.
  • Provide problem resolution for all hardware and software elements of the data communication circuits maintained by the work center to include Commercial and GFE owned networks.
  • Provide outage and restoration information as required to include restore times.
  • Ensure the availability of the circuits in coordination with others work centers as required.
  • Perform status updates and circuit monitoring as required.
  • Technically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.
What you will bring: 
  • Must possess a current DoD TS Security Clearance adjudicated for SCI
  • Level II DoD 8570 Certification. Active CompTIA SEC+ CE Cert
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years’ experience
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
How you will wow us:
  • Experience with operating records such as circuit history folders, master station logs, trouble tickets (Remedy), outage and restoration records, and DISA reports is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a DRSN certification is preferred.
  • Experience with handling, disposing, transferring and managing COMSEC.
  • Knowledge of or experience in DRSN installations and installation practices.
  • Working knowledge of the Air Force and/or DoD is a plus.
