Must have a strong technical A/V background to successfully manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects supporting the operations and maintenance, new engineering change task orders, technical refresh, new system improvement and modernization activities, and other major changes that occur. The position is 100% on-site at The Pentagon. What you will do: The specific duties include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Position is a shift position supporting a 24/7/365 mission.
Works with many audio-visual & broadcast platforms and products to research capabilities, evaluate against market competitors, architect into scalable solutions, test, and certify into the organization's audio-visual offerings.
Support AV/VTC maintenance activities, providing reach-back support (e.g., advanced level support/Tier-3, for systems listed in Appendix E).
Proficiency in International Telecommunications Union (ITU) defined standards, proficiency in IT systems installation methods, and proficiency in Electronic Industries Association (EIA) standards.
Install AV systems according to systems documentation and industry standards and best-practices
Maintain accurate as-built documentation of systems installations
Provide field-support for service tickets as needed
Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals
Experienced with the installation of AV systems and equipment including flat panel displays, control systems, and AV signal routing and processing equipment
Ability to fabricate, cable, and test equipment racks and cabinets
Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations
Ability to properly and safely use/operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment
Demonstrated ability to work with and without direct supervision
Good interpersonal and time management skills
Must be detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle deadlines and tight timelines.
Will be required to trouble shoot and fault isolate a variety of audiovisual systems for high visibility and mission critical systems, as some of the solutions will require outside the box thinking and actions.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Technically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must.
What you will bring:
An active DoD TS/SCI Clearance
Bachelor’s degree, current Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT level II certification, possess Crestron Digital Certified Engineer or Crestron Certified Programmer certifications and have completed training from an organization such as the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) or the ability to attain Crestron Digital Certified Engineer or Crestron Certified Programmer certifications within 6 months.
Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:
A master’s degree (in subjects described above) and 3 – 5 years of experience and ability to attain certification within 1 yr.
No degree with 10 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to task and all current applicable certifications.
Active CompTIA Security + or CCNP Security certification
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in multimedia systems engineering.
A/V technician/installer – Candidates should have minimum of 3-5 years of AV systems implementation:

Certifications such as InfoComm/Avixa CTS, Crestron, Extron, Polycom or Biamp are desired, but not a requirement for this position.
Experienced working at the Pentagon.
Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR.
