JCS is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead cloud initiatives for our client. Designs and implements enterprise-grade cloud architectures that meet business, security, and operational requirements. Leads cloud migration and modernization initiatives, including refactoring legacy applications. Collaborates with security, DevOps, and application development teams to enforce cloud best practices and governance policies. Defines and implements cloud architecture standards, patterns, and reference models. Evaluates new cloud technologies and services to determine suitability and strategic fit. Provides technical leadership in architecture reviews, risk assessments, and cloud performance optimization. Develops and maintains documentation of cloud environments, blueprints, and operational workflows. Subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting and support escalations across cloud platforms. What you will do:
8 years’ experience or more in the role of an IT enterprise architect.
8 years’ experience with developing/supporting the development of IT strategic system plans.
8 years’ experience with data modeling in support of the planning and analysis efforts using both manual and automated tools.
3 years’ experience with cloud technology and experience creating a cloud strategy (i.e., AWS, Azure).
Experience with developing enterprise-wide set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design, and construction of information systems on an enterprise-wide basis or across a major sector of the enterprise.
Experience in leading reverse engineering exercises to develop migration strategic and planning documents is preferred.
Strong skills in the following key areas including strategic thinking, multi-tasking, time management, planning and executing to a defined schedule.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Must have or be eligible to hold an HHS Public Trust
5+ years of hands-on experience architecting and implementing cloud-native solutions in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
Expertise in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab.
Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks, including zero trust architecture, identity federation, and workload isolation.
Experience in developing cloud roadmaps and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Familiarity with cloud cost modeling, finops, and usage optimization tools.
