JCS Solution is seeking a Cybersecurity Communications Specialist to develop and deliver clear, engaging cybersecurity awareness content for a program responsible for ensuring critical infrastructure protection and resilience through effective collaboration between federal, private sector, and inter agency partners.
The ideal candidate will have experience in technical writing, cybersecurity risk communication, and content development for security awareness programs aimed at diverse audiences. This role involves orchestrating across various teams, elevating JCDC Planning office’s voice in the effectiveness arena, and ensuring we meet influence and outreach KPIs. You will advise and support leadership in crafting thought-provoking content, develop and supervise strategic outreach efforts, and ensure the planning office is a powerhouse at the service of our mission.

What you will do:
  • Create cybersecurity awareness materials, including newsletters, bulletins, and presentations.
  • Develop communication strategies to educate staff on cybersecurity risks, best practices, and policies.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into accessible content.
  • Manage cybersecurity awareness campaigns and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Ensure messaging aligns with organizational security policies and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging across internal and external cybersecurity communications.
  • Tracking and integrating key trends and influential voices in government effectiveness and development through external sources and internal leadership and insights.
  • Track and analyze outreach and engagement, optimize tactics to ensure performance against organizational KPIs.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration, create and maintain effective knowledge management systems, and drive the development of compelling content across all channels.
  • Analyze current communications across Cybersecurity and provide a structured communications plan to guide the messaging strategy. Update and manage the plan with outlined goals for reaching target audiences
  • Coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups to understand Cybersecurity’s mission elements and provide targeted communications and outreach materials that meet their various needs
  • Coordinate and support small- to large-scale outreach and awareness events
  • Manage and update the customer facing Cybersecurity portal (intranet), including content development and design/structure of the portal
What you will bring:
  • U.S. Citizenship required (required by federal government for position)
  • Active Top Secret government clearance required.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity communications, outreach, technical writing, or security awareness training.
  • Ability to craft clear, engaging, and informative content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
How you will wow us:
  • Experience with digital content creation tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to leadership teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical subject matter experts and translate that information seamlessly to non-technical employees and stakeholders.
  • An ability to grasp complex functional policy concepts and translate into structured text or images that is easy to understand.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and senior staff and management (this role requires interaction across the enterprise and regular interface with people at all organization levels).
  • Self-starter; adaptable to change; motivated to set personal and program goals and proactively track performance against goals and initiatives.
  • Demonstrative experience with interactive training and/or workshop experience with government policy and/or cybersecurity.
